Administrative Assistant / Financial Administrator

Clearwater Employment Services

 

 

The Administrative Assistant/Financial Administrator will report directly to the Manager.  This is a full-time position. 

 

Key position responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles using QuickBooks accounting software.  Provide regular reports to Manager.  Data entry into specialized software system.

  • Calculate and compile statistical data as required by Manager.

  • Maintain website, updating job postings and coming events as needed.

  • Facilitate information sessions/workshops in a friendly, positive manner as directed by Manager.

  • Prepare job postings, for employers, for advertising on the website as well as the Job Bank of Canada.

  • Provide back-up, front line clerical services in the absence of the Office Assistant.

  • Troubleshoot technical difficulties with office computers and equipment. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.  Completion of an office administration course would be an asset.

  • Minimum of 3 years office experience.

  • Proven competency in all phases of accounting functions.

  • Proficient with Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook) and thoroughly familiar with the internet and its applications.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; keen analytical and problem solving abilities.

  • Superior administrative, secretarial and bookkeeping skills.

  • High level of accuracy in handling details; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. 

  • Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands.

  • Client centered, empathetic and able to perform as a team player.

Employment Counsellor/Case Manager

Clearwater Employment Services

Reporting to the Manager, the Employment Counsellor/Case Manager is responsible for client case management of Clearwater Employment Services (CES). This is a full time position.

 Key position responsibilities:

  • Apply and conduct accurate needs assessment of individuals to ensure appropriate intervention planning.

  • Develop, provide direction and monitor back to work action plan with clients.

  •  Address barriers to employment through referral process and / or counselling.

  •  Provide counselling to clients one-on-one or in group settings assisting clients with career decision making, skill enhancement, work search and employment maintenance.

  • Conduct initial assessment using models approved by Manager.

  •  Determine program eligibility and evaluate appropriateness for funding for a variety of programs.

  •  Enter client data into computer software and ensure timely and accurate file management

  •  Facilitate workshops and information sessions as directed by the Manager

 Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years post secondary education and / or equivalent experience and training in counselling and group facilitation, with emphasis on job search techniques, career decision making and/or life skills an asset.
  • In depth knowledge of employment initiatives.
  • Experience with Employment Programs, either in development of workshops or as an employment counsellor.
  • Good research skills, both electronically and other.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective motivational and positive reinforcement skills.
  • Must be a team player with ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and staff.
  • Skilled in the use of Internet job search, Office 2007 and other computer software.
  • Familiar with Contact IV case management system an asset.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands.
  • Career Practitioner Diploma an asset.

 COMMUNITY NURSE CONSULT

(RN or LPN required)

 

Clearwater Prenatal & Postpartum Home Visiting Program: 4-8 hours per week

Barriere & Clearwater Prenatal Class Instructor: up to 4 sessions per year

This position is responsible for providing home visiting staff with access to the knowledge and expertise of a registered nurse to assist them in their service delivery for their clients. This position will act in a supervisory role in developing goals, strengthening support networks and reviewing curriculum content which will contribute to the effectiveness of the home visiting program.

HOME SHARE PROVIDER

Clearwater/Barriere, BC

Yellowhead Community Services is looking for an individual or family willing to become a Home Share Provider and welcome a man in his twenties with a developmental disability into their home and their lives. As a home share provider, you will provide ongoing support and guidance with building life skills, meal preparation, personal care and use of community resources and services. Other responsibilities include ensuring the safety and well being of this individual and ensuring he is provided with appropriate medical and dental care. You will also assist with nurturing positive relationships with his friends, family and support network, encourage integration and inclusion within the home and the community.  This is a 24/7 position, however regular respite and relief will be provided.

Basic Requirements

Training and/or previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related field.

First Aid and CPR training

Valid BC driver’s license

Criminal record check

 

Be willing to obtain/complete the following:

A satisfactory home study

Three letters of reference

Physician’s letter of good health

Signed declaration of confidentiality

Signed release of information
