FOOD FORUM FOR THE NORTH THOMPSON!

Click on links to find out more about:

Food Security:

“A situation in which all community residents obtain a safe, culturally acceptable, nutritionally adequate diet through a sustainable food system that maximizes self-reliance and social justice.”

Everyone has the right to healthy, affordable food that is easy to buy and preferably locally grown...... But, is this type of food available to everyone in the North Thompson?  Are we working together to support food security?

People from Blue River to Barriere are working together as a team. Bernie Graffunder and Karen Molliet from Vavenby, Alida and Ric Irving from Barriere, Elsie Karl from Little Fort, Jamie Bryce from Avola, Mandy Richter and Marie-Luise Kunkel from Clearwater, Joni Miller, Cathy Baird and Shannon from ChuChua and Lolly Fehr from Blue River are just a few of the people who have already become involved with food security in the valley.

For information on food security initiatives contact Cheryl Thomas at 674-3260 (cell 674-8488)
