Administrative Assistant

Clearwater - Full-time 35 hours per week

Yellowhead Community Services (YCS) is seeking an individual who is positive, self-motivated, kind and service oriented; a friendly team player with strong interpersonal skills, excellent reception/phone and organizational skills, who is flexible and will enjoy multi-tasking in a busy office environment. This position provides confidential support to a team of professionals in a broad variety of program areas. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher), keyboarding skills, database entry, filing systems, and standard office equipment needed. Minimum two years experience is desired. Computer tech skills and basic bookkeeping knowledge would be an asset.

This position is based from the YCS Main office in Clearwater, and may also provide administrative coverage at other YCS locations. This is a full time position (35 hrs/week, Monday-Friday) with a competitive wage and benefit package. Any offer of employment would be subject to a clean criminal record check.

Employment Specialist

WorkBC Centre - Barriere - Full-time 35 hours per week

An Employment Specialist assists unemployed, underemployed or precariously employed individuals to obtain employment by supporting clients through a collaborative approach to identify realistic employment options, become job ready, source prospective employers and provide coaching.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to motivate clients and program participants to learn skills and acquire employment
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines, manage a varied client load and work under pressure
  • Advanced MS Office, database skills and proficient with Social Media
  • Ability to follow instructions, to work independently and excel in a team environment
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required. Current first aid would be an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Education & Experience

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a related field
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and related experience
  • Experience working with multi-barriered clients in a confidential and collaborative client centred approach to meet their employment goals

Early Childhood, Infant and Toddler and Special Need Educator

Yellowhead Community Service Society operates four licensed child care facilities; Building Blocks Daycare, Clearwater Preschool and Wells Gray After School Program in Clearwater and Little Stars Child Care in Barriere, BC. We have various openings for Early Childhood Educators, Infant and Toddler, Special Needs Educators and Educator Assistants.  Hours will fluctuate depending on numbers of children registered in our programs.

Successful candidates will be able to:

  • Work well within a team environment to assist with the planning and implementation of a quality play based program for children between two months and 13 years’ old
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, families and community professionals
  • Be familiar with the expectations and requirements of Community Care Licensing Regulations
  • Posses an in depth knowledge of child growth and development
  • Participate in ongoing professional development


  • ECE diploma, certificate or assistant status
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Clearwater/Barriere, BC 

Yellowhead Community Services is looking for an individual or couple willing to become Home Share Providers for a semi-independent woman with a developmental disability in the Clearwater area. As a Home Share Provider, you will provide ongoing support and guidance building life skills, assisting with meal preparation, personal care, accessing community resources and services. Other responsibilities include; the safety and well-being of the individual and ensuring she accesses appropriate medical and dental care. You will also assist with nurturing positive relationships with friends, family and support network and encourage integration and inclusion within the home and community.  This is a 24/7 position, however additional supports will be provided.

Basic Requirements

  • Relevant training and/or previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities including FASD.
  • First Aid and CPR training
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Criminal record check

Be willing to obtain/complete the following:

  • A satisfactory home study
  • Three letters of reference
  • Physician’s letter of good health
  • Signed declaration of confidentiality
  • Signed release of information
