OUR SUPPORTERS FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS

RAISE a READER Campaigns Support Clearwater and Area Literacy Initiatives!

The Kamloops Raise a Reader Campaign donated $5000 towards providing a Mother Goose program for parents and children. The Mother Goose program promotes bonding and attachment between parents and their young children through singing and storytelling, which helps to create safe and nurturing environments for a child’s growth and development in their early years.

The Vancouver Sun 2009 Raise a Reader Campaign also generously granted YCS $5000 to be used for the Literacy Outreach for Pre-School Children program! This initiative is in partnership with the Home Visitor program, and will put Literacy Kits filled with information and resources into the hands of parents and children!

Donation from Canadian Forest Products and Canfor Truckers' Fund!

Once again, we are fortunate to have the local support of this fund! YCS has recently received not one, but two donations from Canadian Forest Products and Canfor Truckers’ Fund to help us accomplish some more of our wish list! Thanks to their generous support, we will be purchasing new furniture for the youth centre. We will also be able to offer some limited local travel support to those more disadvantaged in our community. Our community partners - Canadian Forest Products and Canfor Truckers' Fund - help make things happen!
