Forestry Supervisor

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in a natural resource field.
• Operation forestry experience in planning, harvesting and silviculture.
• Registered or able to register with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (RPF, RFT).
• Proficiency with GIS tools and forestry software (e.g., ArcGIS, Field Maps).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work in various locations.

• 3+ years experience in the forest industry.
• Ability to work independently in the outdoors
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Experience working with First Nations communities and incorporating cultural values into forestry practices is an asset.
• Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued.

Duties

Reporting to the Forestry Manager, the Forestry Supervisor will oversee forestry operations in our Clearwater Office from planning and permitting to post-harvest and silviculture activities. This is a hands-on role requiring a balance of technical expertise, operational leadership, and a strong commitment to sustainability and community values.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise forestry activities, including road building, harvesting, and silviculture operations.
• Ensure compliance with forestry regulations, safety standards, and environmental best practices.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Lead the preparation and submission of cutting permit applications, including block layout, assessments, and mapping.

• Oversee the preparation of timber appraisals, ensuring accurate data collection and timely submission.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate cultural, environmental, and operational considerations into plans.
• Conduct field inspections to monitor harvesting, road construction, and post-harvest conditions.
• Utilize digital tools (e.g., GIS, Field Maps) to collect and analyze spatial data.
• Provide field support for environmental and cultural assessments as needed.
• Oversee post-harvest activities, including waste and residue assessments, site preparation, and reforestation.
• Work collaboratively with First Nations communities, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders. Support initiatives that integrate cultural heritage and community values into forest management activities.
• All other duties as assigned.

Logistics Coordinator

Wage 25.00-30.00 per hour

Requirements

Paradigm is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator. This role ensures the efficient and timely transportation and storage of finished products and involves coordinating and monitoring logistics operations to ensure high customer satisfaction. The Logistics Coordinator's main duties include preparing bill of landings, routing finished products as per requested by end user's, reviewing shipment materials before distributions, collaborating with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups and monitoring shipment costs and productivity processes. The Logistics Coordinator will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager. Some key responsibilities of the role include the following: 

Coordinate and Monitor Logistical Operations:

-Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements.

-Oversee the movement of goods from suppliers to distribution centers and retailers. 

-Support internal and external movement of goods/materials as required.

-Any other tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Manager to support the supply chain functions.

Shipping:

- Inspect and document outbound shipments, create Bill of Landing as needed. 

-Upload Bill of Landings (BOL's) for outbound shipments to SharePoint. 

-Upload photos of part of the BOL process into SharePoint.

-Log the appropriate documents and notify the correct parties. Coordinate with logistics for delivery timelines, coordinate with Logistics pickup of LTL (less than truckload).

-Prepare and process outbound shipments, including picking, packing and labeling. 

-Verify shipment details and ensure accuracy in quantities, destinations, items. 

-Coordinate with carriers for timely, pickups and deliveries.

-Generate and manage shipping documents such a bills of landing, packing lists and shipping labels. 

-Track and monitor shipments, addressing any delays or issues promptly.

-Some out-of-town for logistics coordinating may be required. 

Manage Finished Production Inventory:

-Coordinate deliveries and update records.

-Keep track of Finished Production Inventory and storage. 

-Follow Storage SOP's and inspect storage conditions as required.

-Update delivery schedule and communicate. 

Communication and Coordination:

-Liaise with suppliers, manufactures, retailers and consumers. 

-Communicate to operators loading priorities and requirements and share detailed shipping schedule 2-3 weeks in advance.

-Communicate with logistics and customer service teams to ensure efficient distribution and delivery. 

Documentation and Compliance:

-Prepare accurate reports for upper management.

-Ensure compliance with law and regulations in all logistics activities. 

-Handle and process necessary shipping and export documentations

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

-Address and resolve any issues related to logistics operations. 

-Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Technology Utilization:

-Use logistics IT systems to optimize procedures.

-Track KPI's and report performance.

 

Educational Background:

-Required certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field. 

 

Experience:

-Proven experience as a logistics coordinator or in a similar role. 

-Experience in customer service will be appreciated. 

 

Skills:

-Excellent organizational and coordination abilities. 

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

-Proficient in MS Office and logistics software(e.g. ERP).

-Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes. 

-Knowledge of law, regulations and ISO requirements.

Simpcw Resources LLP is growing rapidly and is seeking a Silviculture Forester to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Forestry Manager, the Silviculture Forester will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring silvicultural activities to ensure to ensure the long-term health and productivity of forested lands. Your role will involve a combination of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities, utilizing various forestry software and analytical tools to enhance operational efficiency. You will play a key role in reforestation, stand tending, and forest regeneration while ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and best management practices.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute silviculture plans, including site preparation, planting programs, spacing, brushing and thinning operations.
Conduct field assessments and surveys to monitor forest regeneration and growth performance.
Oversee contractors and field crews to ensure high-quality silviculture treatments and adherence to safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with BC forestry regulations, industry standards, and certification requirements.
Utilize ArcGIS, Phoenix, RESULTS and other forestry software for data analysis, reporting, and planning.

Duties

As a Truck Driver at Borrow Enterprises you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of gravels, parts, equipment or containers to and from job/project sites. You have to be able to operate a tandem axle truck, work safe and execute every delivery with precision and care.
Responsibilities
• Operate a tandem axle truck to transport and deliver gravels, parts, equipment or containers to designated job sites.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safe driving practices while operating the truck, ensuring the safety of yourself, fellow drivers, pedestrians and other road users.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Safely load and unload the loads onto the truck, utilizing the hydraulic lift system and securing them properly for transportation.
• Collaborate with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to plan and optimize routes and schedules for timely delivery and pick-up.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pick-ups, mileage, and fuel consumption using provided log books or electronic systems.
