As a Home Share Provider, you will provide ongoing support and guidance building life skills, assisting with meal preparation, accessing community resources, and services. You will encourage inclusion within the home and community environment. You will be responsible for the safety, support, and wellbeing of the individual. You will ensure the individual is accessing appropriate medical and dental care. Also, you will assist with nurturing positive relationships with friends, family, and support networks. This is a 24/7 position; however, additional supports will be provided.

School Bus Drivers - Relief

Requirements

The successful applicant must possess a valid Class 2 Drivers license with an Air endorsement and have three years proven previous driving experience. Applicants must be able to successfully complete the School District’s pre-trip evaluation and road test.

Applications should include, but are not limited to, the following information:
-Work history
-Indication of a valid Class 2 driver’s license
-An Air Brake Endorsement
-A recent driver’s abstract
Resume and Cover letter - required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferably Grade 12 supplemented by a Class 2 Driver’s License and Air Brake courses.
-Must be physically able to perform all duties of the position and pass an annual medical examination.
-Three years appropriate accident free driving experience, valid B.C. Class 2 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement and ability to successfully complete the School District’s pre-trip and road test.

ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with the public, parents, students, teachers, Principals and other employees of the Board.
-Ability to operate a School Bus and adhere to all safety and traffic regulations.
-Ability to maintain discipline on a School Bus.
-Knowledge of the mechanical operations of a School Bus

Duties

Under the minimal supervision of the Director of Transportation, incumbent is responsible for safely transporting students over assigned routes and for reporting any mechanical failures or accidents.

Typical Duties:
- Operates a School Bus to safely transport students over assigned routes including field trips
-Performs pre-trip inspection prior to departure.
-Keeps a log of extra trips taken
-Maintains internal cleanliness of the bus.
-Reports mechanical failures and accidents to the appropriate supervisor
-Maintains appropriate behaviour and completes Discipline Reports on problem students being transported.
-May be required to assist physically and mentally handicapped students when transporting them.
-Other assigned job related duties.

Transit Driver - PT - Lillooet

Duties

Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, charitable society that operates social service programs and rural Transit systems in the communities of Clearwater, Ashcroft and Lillooet. YCS is looking for a Part Time (20 hours/week) Transit Driver to join our team. This position will be based out of our Lillooet location.
Key Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Drive transit vehicles to transport passengers on regular fixed routes, door to door (Handydart) service, and Afterhours requests.

• Provide route information to transit passengers and collection of fares.
• Assist elderly passengers and persons with disabilities with loading/unloading, and securement of wheelchairs within established safety procedures.
• Maintain records and makes reports as required.
• Inspect vehicles and performs pre-operation, during operation, and post-operation checks.
• Complete daily routine cleaning as per checklist of interior and exterior of transit vehicles.
