Requirements

District of Clearwater is looking to hire an Administrative and Communications Assistant. This position serves as the first point of contact at the front desk and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. 

Requirements for the position are: 

-Completion of senior secondary school or equivalent is required.

-Post-secondary coursework in Office Administration or Microsoft Office program is considered an asset. 

-Experience in an administrative support role, preferably within local government, is preferred, along with a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute. 

 

Responsibilities:

-The successful candidate will assist with the planning and execution of communication strategies, including drafting public notices, media releases, social media content, website updates, newsletters, and print publications. 

-The successful candidate will have proven strong written and verbal communication shills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, adobe and ability to manage confidential information with discretion. 

- Assist in the implementation of the District's communications goals and strategy.

-Regularly update and manage website and social media accounts. 

-Answer, screen and direct calls and relay messages to the appropriate departments.

-Provide information to the public or direct inquiries as necessary. Remove-similar to #3.

-Receive and maintain public works service requests through a tracking system.

-Process inquiries from the public and customers, including completing forms for water connections. 

-Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies and track the budget for restocking as required. 

-Engage in business license applications, maintain and update the business license index, and ensure accurate information is reflected on the District's website.

-Receive and process cemetery applications, coordinate plot selection, maintain cemetery records, assist with interment arrangements and liaise with families. 

-Assist with coding, filing, storage, retrieval and cross-reference index for the municipal filing system, including maintaining the archive system. 

 

A successful Police Information check is contingent for employment. 

Must be available occasionally outside regular hours to support time-sensitive communications or priority messaging when necessary.

Reporting to the Forestry Manager, the Forestry Supervisor will oversee forestry operations in our Clearwater Office from planning and permitting to post-harvest and silviculture activities. Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise forestry activities, including road building, harvesting, and silviculture operations.
• Ensure compliance with forestry regulations, safety standards, and environmental best practices.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Lead the preparation and submission of cutting permit applications, including block layout, assessments, and mapping.

• Conduct field inspections to monitor harvesting, road construction, and post-harvest conditions.
