Clearwater & Area Transit Driver

Clearwater, BC - Part-Time 25.75 hrs/week

Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, charitable society that operates social service programs and rural Transit systems in the communities of Clearwater, Ashcroft and Lillooet. YCS is looking for a Part-time, 25.75 hr/week Transit Driver to join our team. This position will be based out of our Clearwater location.

Key Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive transit vehicles to transport passengers on regular fixed routes, door to door (Handydart) service, and Special Transit Trip requests.
  • Valley Connector route to Kamloops – transport riders from Vavenby, Clearwater, Barriere and Blue River/Avola areas.
  • Provide route information to transit passengers and collection of fares.
  • Assist elderly passengers and persons with disabilities with loading/unloading, and securement of wheelchairs within established safety procedures.
  • Maintain records and makes reports as required.
  • Inspect vehicles and performs pre-operation, during operation, and post-operation checks.
  • Complete daily routine cleaning as per checklist of interior and exterior of transit vehicles.

Qualifications

Minimum grade 12 education is required.  Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience operating a commercial vehicle and/or providing passenger transportation services. Other requirements include a Clear Criminal Records Check, Acceptable Commercial Driver’s Abstract and a Class 1, 2 or Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License.

Lillooet Health Connections Transit Driver

Lillooet, BC - Part-Time 20 hrs/week

Mental Health/Substance Use Clinician / Anti-Violence Counsellor

Barriere, BC - Full-time - 35 hours per week

Position Summary

This is a blended position of a mental health/substance use (MHSU) clinician and anti-violence counsellor through the Stopping the Violence and PEACE programs as part of our integrated counselling team.

MHSU Clinician

Providing services primarily with adult and senior populations Conducting intake, brief interventions, assessments, counselling, integrated treatment planning and case management.  Responsibilities will include carrying a caseload and delivering services to those with a diagnosis of major mood disorders, personality disorders, and concurrent disorders (medical conditions, trauma, addictions and other disorders). Position will require competencies in clinical counselling and collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists and the local First Nation Band service team. Position includes providing services to youth with problem substance abuse issues.

Stopping the Violence (STV) Counsellor

Providing services to adult women who are in domestic abusive situations and/or who have been in abusive relationships. Conducting initial assessments and co-creating safety plans. Provide psycho-education and counselling to work through effects of violence. Collaborating with community services providers including participating in inter- professional service provider groups and providing appropriate referrals to other services providers.

Children that Witness Violence (PEACE) Counsellor

Providing services to children and youth aged 3 to 18 who have experienced violence. Conducting initial assessments. Provide psycho-education and counselling to work through effects of violence. Collaborating with community services providers and making appropriate referrals.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in a Health, Behavioral, or Social Science field relevant to the position. Two (2) years’ recent clinical experience related to mental health, alcohol and drug treatment and experience working with women and children directly affected by domestic violence is an asset.  Current valid class 5 BC Driver’s License & satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Family Counsellor

Ashcroft, BC - Part-time - 20 hours per week

Position Summary

Providing counselling services to a broad-based community population.  The target population is adults with children.  Services will include individual and/or family sessions as needed. Services may include topics such as sexual assault, family violence, family dynamics, sexual abuse, coping skills, substance abuse and other issues that are determined as relevant and necessary. There will be opportunities to provide workshops and other resources to clients. The position will require skills and knowledge working with indigenous clients, as well as making referrals to medical/mental health or other counselling services. Sessions may take place in the office, in the family home, via phone or virtually.  Appointments may involve some evening sessions.

Qualifications

Home Share Provider - Clearwater & Barriere, BC

Do you want to make a difference in the life of an adult with diverse abilities?

Yellowhead Community Services (YCS) is looking for individuals willing to become Home Share Providers for adults with diverse abilities and wellness barriers in the Clearwater and Barriere area.

As a Home Share Provider, you will provide ongoing support and guidance building life skills, assisting with meal preparation, accessing community resources, and services. You will encourage inclusion within the home and community environment. You will be responsible for the safety, support, and wellbeing of the individual. You will ensure the individual is accessing appropriate medical and dental care. Also, you will assist with nurturing positive relationships with friends, family, and support networks. This is a 24/7 position; however, additional supports will be provided.

Basic Requirements:

  • Relevant training and/or previous experience working with individuals with diverse abilities.
  • First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.
  • Criminal record check.

Be willing to obtain/complete the following:

  • Physician’s letter of good health.
  • Three letters of reference.
  • A satisfactory home-study.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate.
  • A signed declaration of confidentiality.
  • A signed release of information.
