Behavior Interventionist Worker

Wage $24.38 - $28.42 + 4% in lieu of benefits

Requirements Yellowhead Community Services Society is an integrated health/social service agency with offices located in Clearwater and Barriere, BC. We are currently seeking a Behavior Interventionist to work on a casual/on-call basis to provide one on one support to children within our Autism Program in-home and in community.
Qualifications:
Degree/diploma in a relevant field or working towards an ECE certificate is preferred, however, individuals with related experience and/or a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply and will be considered. Any offers of employment will be subject to a clean criminal record check. A valid driver’s license, acceptable Driver’s Abstract and access to a safe, reliable vehicle is required. Current first aid would be an asset.
Duties

Key Duties:
The BI Behaviour Interventionist encourages and assists children to experience new and challenging activities that further develop their independence and skill sets. The Behaviour Interventionist works closely with Behaviour Consultants, other Interventionists as well as the Program Manager to provide quality services to children, youth and families.

Hour of Work:
Shifts will typically take place during the day between the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday and will range in duration from 2-6 hours per shift, dependent on program needs. The schedule is flexible and can accommodate other commitments applicants may have.

More Info Compensation:
Rate of pay is dependent on experience and ranges from $24.38 -$28.42 + 4% in lieu of benefits.

Carpenter Journeyman/Woman

Requirements

**Revelstoke Location**

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or formal carpentry training
  • Crane operator experience/certification is an asset
  • 3-5 years of carpentry experience with a portfolio of completed projects
  • Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and construction drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication
  • Physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and ability to follow instructions
  • Journeyman Carpenter certification/licensure may be required depending on regional regulations
  • Safety certification preferred
Duties
  • Construct, install, and repair wood structures and fixtures (frameworks, partitions, joists, studs, rafters, stairways, doors, windows, cabinets)
  • Measure and mark cutting lines using rulers, chalk, and marking tools
  • Shape or cut materials to specifications using hand tools, machines, or power saws
  • Assemble and fasten materials using screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
  • Install joists, trusses, and rafters
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans
  • Take precise measurements and calculate dimensions required for projects
  • Select appropriate materials based on project requirements
  • Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or structures
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and craftmanship of carpentry work
  • Follow established safety rules and maintain a safe, clean environment
  •  Use PPE and ensure tools/machinery are in safe condition
  • Safely operate hand tools and construction equipment
  • Collaborate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades
  • Provide mentorship to apprentices and junior carpenters
  • Support continuous improvement and collaborate with Site Supervisor on quality control processes
  • Select and source appropriate materials considering durability, strength, and budget
  • Estimate material requirements and manage supplies to minimize waste

Fire Mitigation Crew Member

Requirements

The District of Clearwater’s Fire Department is seeking a motivated and community-minded individual for the temporary Fire Mitigation Crew Member position. These seasonal opportunities offer meaningful work supporting wildfire prevention, education and mitigation activities throughout the district. Ideal candidates are physically fit, enjoy working outdoors, and are passionate about enhancing wildfire resilience in our community.
The successful candidates will be strong team players, safety-focused and comfortable working in physically demanding and rural environments. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the safety and preparedness of our community while building experience in fire mitigations and emergency response.


Completion of senior secondary school or equivalent is required. Candidates must possess a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain) and maintain a clean driver’s abstract. Applicants must also meet the qualifications for the Fire Department Initial Attack (FDIA) position and actively participate as members of the FDIA crew. The FDIA crew positions are non-union paid DDIA crew

Applicants must hold, or be willing to complete, the following certifications:

·       Local Fire Smart Representative (LFR) Certification (or ability to obtain)

·       S-100 & S-185: Basic Fire Suppression and Entrapment Avoidance

·       ICS-100: Introduction to Incident Command System

·       S-230: Crew Leader (preferred for senior positions)

·       Power Saw Operator Training (Chainsaw)

·       Basic First Aid with CPR and AED (minimum requirement)


Additional qualifications include:
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in wildfire mitigation (asset)
• Familiarity with wildfire behavior and Fire Smart principles (asset)
• Prior experience working in outdoor and rugged terrain environments
• Experience using brush saws, chainsaws and other motorized equipment

 

 

Duties Reporting directly to the Fire Chief, Fire Mitigation Crew members will conduct wildfire risk reduction on both private and public properties. Duties include vegetation management, yard work, community engagement and tool maintenance. Work may occur in varied weather conditions and rural settings.
More Info The Fire Mitigation Crew member is part of the CUPE Local 900 bargaining unit with a pay rate of $26.69 per hour plus in lieu of benefits, in accordance with the collective agreement. Work schedules will vary depending on program needs and available funding. The anticipated start date is on or around April 20, 2026.
