Duties include:
• Producing quality articles and videos on a daily

- Be the editorial face to local readers in the community.

- Assist with slotting the weekly print product.

Operations Technologist

Requirements

There are currently two (2) positions in Kamloops, and one (1) in Merritt. Please note, this is an ongoing posting without a scheduled close date. The posting close date will be added to the posting a minimum of two weeks prior to the posting close date. Applications will be reviewed every three weeks.

- Graduation from an approved technical institute with a diploma or degree in resource or forestry management and three (3) years of experience in one or more operational field forestry activities. OR
- An equivalent combination of education or experience such as five (5) years of experience in one or more area of operational field forestry.

- Operational field forestry activities include one or more of the following:
o Timber harvesting monitoring/conformance
o Cut-block development
o Forest road engineering
o Silviculture
o Timber tenure development and administration
-Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals (ABCFP) as a Registered Forest Technologist or equivalent.
- Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.

 BC Timber Sales (BCTS) manages about 20 percent of the province’s allowable annual cut for Crown timber, generating economic prosperity for British Columbians through the safe, sustainable development and auction of Crown timber.
The Operations Technologist is responsible for developing operating standards, implementing new forest management practices, contract management, coordinating technical activities, monitoring adherence to legislative and environmental standards and providing technical expertise to staff in one or more of the following areas: tenure development, road and block layout, silviculture, timber tenure administration and forestry contract administration.

School Bus Drivers - Relief

Requirements

The successful applicant must possess a valid Class 2 Drivers license with an Air endorsement and have three years proven previous driving experience. Applicants must be able to successfully complete the School District’s pre-trip evaluation and road test.

Applications should include, but are not limited to, the following information:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferably Grade 12 supplemented by a Class 2 Driver’s License and Air Brake courses.

ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with the public, parents, students, teachers, Principals and other employees of the Board.
-Ability to operate a School Bus and adhere to all safety and traffic regulations.
-Ability to maintain discipline on a School Bus.
-Knowledge of the mechanical operations of a School Bus

Duties

Under the minimal supervision of the Director of Transportation, incumbent is responsible for safely transporting students over assigned routes and for reporting any mechanical failures or accidents.

Typical Duties:
- Operates a School Bus to safely transport students over assigned routes including field trips
-Performs pre-trip inspection prior to departure.
-Keeps a log of extra trips taken
-Maintains internal cleanliness of the bus.
-Reports mechanical failures and accidents to the appropriate supervisor
-Maintains appropriate behaviour and completes Discipline Reports on problem students being transported.
-May be required to assist physically and mentally handicapped students when transporting them.
-Other assigned job related duties.
