Requirements

Paradigm Solar Inc. is looking to hire a Solar Installer for the Kamloops and Area. The Solar Installer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of both grid-connected and off-grid solar energy systems for residential and commercial properties. The role requires technical expertise in DC and AC electrical work, the ability to work with solar batteries for energy storage and knowledge to troubleshoot performance issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy, a strong understanding of electrical systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients. This position offers growth opportunities, with potential advancement. Travel in the Kamloops area will be required and potential for travel to other projects sites in BC. 

Key responsibilities:

-Install, maintain and repair grid-tied and off-grid solar systems according to design specifications and safety standards.

-Install solar panels on rooftops and ground-mounted systems, ensuring optimal placement based on roof condition and sun exposure. 

-Handle DC & AC electrical work, including wiring, inverters, and electrical panels, ensuring proper connections and safe installation.

-Integrate solar battery storage systems for backup power and energy solutions. 

-Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on existing solar energy systems to diagnose and resolve performance issues and electrical faults. 

-Collaborate with electricians, engineers and project managers to complete installations in a timely and efficient manner. 

-Educate clients on system operation, benefits and ongoing maintenance requirements. 

-Adhere to safety protocols, NEC Codes, OSHA regulations and local building requirements while working on job sites. 

-Maintain accurate records of installation, service activities and equipment inventory. 

-Uphold the company's standards for quality and service in all aspects of your work. 

 

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in electrical or solar installation preferred. 

-Proven experience as a solar installer or in a related field (such as electrical work or construction).

-Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring and solar panel technology. 

-Experience with solar battery systems and energy storage solutions is a plus. 

-Ability to se hand tools, power tools and safety equipment effectively and safely.

-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

-Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at heights. 

-Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.

Duties

Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, charitable society that operates social service programs and rural Transit systems in the communities of Clearwater, Ashcroft and Lillooet. YCS is looking for a Casual Transit Driver to join our team in Ashcroft.
This position is for the Ashcroft-Clinton Transit System and will be based out of Ashcroft, BC. This system operates on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, providing transportation services between Ashcroft and Clinton. A component of this system takes riders to Kamloops and 100 Mile House. Additional hours may be available depending on Special Transit Trip requests.

Key Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Drive transit vehicles to transport passengers on regular fixed routes, door to door service, and Special Transit Trip requests.
• Provide route information to transit passengers and collection of fares.
• Assist elderly passengers and persons with disabilities with loading/unloading, and securement of wheelchairs within established safety procedures.
• Maintain records and makes reports as required.
• Inspect vehicles and performs pre-operation, during operation, and post-operation checks.
• Complete daily routine cleaning as per checklist of interior and exterior of transit vehicles.
