Requirements

Are you passionate about Wells Gray Park and the community of Clearwater? Do you enjoy speaking with visitors from all around the world? Do you like writing on maps upside down?(Don’t worry we can help!)

The Volunteer Visitor Ambassador Program promotes activities and attractions in Wells Gray Country as well as the town of Clearwater. Visitor Ambassadors will answer visitor questions, help with directions, recommend activities, and support Visitor Information Counsellors at the Wells Gray Visitor Information Centre. If you love Wells Gray Park and Clearwater and would enjoy sharing your knowledge of the area, this position is for you!


4 – 20 hours per month (minimum commitment of 4 hours per month)
Hours of operation are within Visitor Centre hours which are subject to change
April to October 2024:
May/June: 9:00AM to 5:00PM
July/August: 9:00Am to 6:00PM
Sept/Oct: 9:00AM to 5:00PM


Duties - Provide accurate information to visitors
- Help with visitor enquiries
- Give advice on directions, activities, food and beverage, and accommodations
- Distribute promotional materials to visitors
- Assist Visitor Centre Councillors with daily tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing

Whitewater Rafting Guides & Instructors

Requirements

Hiring for the 2024 season - Whitewater Rafting Guides and Instructors
We operate out of Clearwater BC and run trips on the Thompson River and the Clearwater River in Wells Gray Provincial Park. We use a variety of rafts;
Oar frame rafts, Cat rafts, and paddle rafts and run every type of trip from a family-friendly float to one-on-one guided kayak trips through Class IV rapids.
Join us this summer and experience what BC;s best whitewater river has to offer!

Requirements:
Qualities: include:
Good work ethic
Able to work unsupervised
Strong safety and risk assessment
Friendly and engaging

Certifications:
Senior or Trip Guide License
Swiftwater Rescue Technician
Wilderness First Aid 50hr (80hr preferred)
Class IV Drivers License
3 years of Whitewater Guiding Experience (Rafting and Kayaking)
Class IV Whitewater Kayaking or Rafting experience

Duties

Responsibilities:

Gear and equipment maintenance
Guide guests in safety demonstrations
Creating a positive guest experience
Set up and take down of trip gear

Whitewater Rafting Operations Manager

Requirements

Liquid Lifestyles is hiring a full-time Guiding Operations Manager for the 2024 season.
We operate out of Clearwater BC and run trips on the Thompson River and the Clearwater River
in Wells Gray Provincial Park.
We are looking for someone with proven leadership experience who can oversee the day-to-day operations and risk management for our river activities.

Required Certifications and Skills
● Excellent communication and organizational abilities
● Strong Technical river knowledge and skills
● Proven leadership and supervisory/management skills
● Friendly and engaging customer service focus
● Swiftwater Rescue Technician

● Wilderness First Aid 50hr. (80hr. Preferred)
● Class IV Drivers License
● Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in Outdoor Education or Tourism (not required but an asset)
● 4 Years Whitewater Guiding Experience (Rafting or Kayaking)
● Advanced River Kayak Instructor (Not required but an asset)

Duties

Responsibilities:
● Manages all riverstaff including, Rafting Guides, Whitewater Kayak Instructors, Shuttle
Drivers and Photographers
● Preventative maintenance of all equipment and gear
● Guides Training and Trip Development programs
● Liaising with guests/clients, ensuring operating and industry standards are met
● Ensures all access and egress points on operational rivers are maintained and
developed
● Ensures that all OH&S legislation and regulations are being adhered to as per our Risk
Management and Emergency Response Program
